SynopsisBuilding on last month's introduction to chart customization, indicators, and simple moving average screening, this workshop will unlock the next level of TradingView platform. This month, we will focus on leveraging the platform's advanced tools to transform analysis into actionable, data-driven decisions:
- Strategies & Backtesting: Learn how to tap into the vast library of community-created Pine Script strategies (not just indicators). We will dive into the Strategy Tester to objectively evaluate a system’s performance, Max Drawdown, and Profit Factor before risking capital.
- Custom Screener Blueprint: Go deep into the TradingView Screener to design sophisticated filters. Learn how to combine fundamental, descriptive, and advanced technical conditions (like RSI momentum or MACD crossovers) to quickly pinpoint high-probability stocks for investment or active trading.

27 Oct Videos – John Bollinger on Usage of Bollinger Bands & Alex Spiroglou on MACD-v
SynopsisThe first video is on Bollinger Bands. John Bollinger will explain his way of using the Bollinger bands with patterns confirmation. He also placed an emphasis on using the Band Width and the %B indicator. The second video is by Alex Spiroglou on MACD-v. He will explain the short-coming of common momentum oscillators and how the MACD-v was developed to overcome these short-comings. He will show how you can use the MACD-v in various market conditions with the bounded reading of the MACD-v. TASS members, Nicholas Tan and Lim Tat Seng will act as moderators and answer questions as well as explain any query regarding the video.

26 Aug Technical Indicators Can Make Chart Patterns Less Subjective
SynopsisChart patterns can help to predict the future price direction and price target of an impending price move. It is a tool most traders would prefer to have than without. However, chart patterns can be subjective and it is more of an art than a science. In this presentation, the speakers would showcase using momentum indicators to make chart patterns like Double Tops, etc less subjective. A moving average can be used to make a continuation chart pattern less subjective as well.

23 Jul Short-term Trades from Long-term Trend
SynopsisThere is a saying “trade with the trend” and this is where you make your money. The long-term trend tends to be more stable than a short-term trend. However, holding on to a position on a long-term trend is like buy and hold style, which tend to miss high and endure sharp pullback in the current volatile of today. Adapting to the strength and correcting the weakness can lead to a more profitable outcome. In this talk, Nicholas will share an adaption that works in 2024 and in 2025.

His experience traced back from 1981 where he started as a precious metal trader and since then had held several portfolios including providing training, customer service, marketing and had spent many years in the dealing room. He held several senior positions with Ong First, REFCO Singapore, MAN Financial, Singapore Exchange, Straits Financial Services and Dupion Singapore. He has taught in many courses and spoke at many international conferences in Singapore, India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, The Philippines and in Indonesia.
