Nicholas Tan is an Associate Director of FX and CFD with UOB Kay Hian, with 33 years of experience in the financial markets. Nicholas Tan writes UOB Kay Hian’s Daily FX Commentary as well as CFD Trading Notes. He also conducts trading ideas for clients based on charts monthly. He also gives a monthly webinar on technical analysis-based trading.

Prior to joining UOB Kay Hian, he worked for 13 years as a forex trader with banks in Singapore, gathering much invaluable experience in the process. Starting in 1989, he rose from the rank to vice president, honing his technical analysis skill in the fast-paced FX marketplace till 2002.

Nicholas Tan was involved in the Diploma in Wealth Management Course at a private institute where he taught as a lecturer, a module on Forex and CFD Trading. Since starting his teaching in 2005, he has taught FX, CFD, stocks as well as technical analysis courses till today. Since 2015, he also teaches an IBF-approved technical analysis course for wealth management professionals for their continuing education.

Besides holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the National University of Singapore, Nicholas also holds a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the Market Technician Association of USA. He is also a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) with the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) and has an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment.

Mr. Lim is an IT professional, developed interest using Technical Analysis for investment & trading decision since early 1990s. He is a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) as well as a full member of Society of Technical Analysts, UK (MST A).
